Burnout in Social Work

This course introduces students to the issue of burnout, with an emphasis on social services. Students will gain a research-informed overview of burnout while examining its impact on employee wellness, organizational settings and professions. The issue of burnout will be explored through a systems lens and utilize the Job Demands-Resource Model. Through an examination of workplace systems, this course offers students avenues to understand, prevent and address burnout. Offered annually.
