Cell Biology

Prerequisite: BIOL 121 with a minimum grade of "C-" or equivalent; and BIOL 123 with a minimum grade of "C-" which may be taken concurrently; and CHEM 131 with a minimum grade of "C-" or CHEM 141 with a minimum grade of "C-" which may be taken concurrently; or consent of instructor Corequisite: BIOL 200L This course is an introduction to the basic concepts in cell structure and cell physiology. Topics will include the function of cellular organelles, enzymes and cell metabolism, the synthesis of macromolecules and the flow of genetic information in the cell, including transcription and translation. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly. Offered spring semester.
