Comprehensive Musicianship I

Prerequisite: MUSC 175 with a minimum grade of "C-" or waiver based upon successful completion of departmental placement This course introduces non-chord tones, melody writing, harmonic progressions using basic triads and voice leading. Introduction to musical forms including binary and ternary also comprise an integral part of the course. Sight-singing, ear-training and keyboard work will further enhance students' abilities to write, hear and perform music. Meets four hours weekly. Offered spring semester.
