Candidates will explore the components of language and literacy development among all learners, including those who experience difficulties. Discussion will be centered around the different aspects of language, including phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax and pragmatics, to promote a deeper understanding of language and literacy development and acquisition. In addition, candidates will develop an understanding of language disorders and diversity in speaking, reading, and writing that impact a K-12 student's literacy and language development. Offered annually.
