Prerequisite: Matriculation in the MEd or postmasters program in counseling; or consent of instructor This course offers a graduate-level understanding of human development across the lifespan. This course will examine traditional and contemporary theories of psychological development, theories of learning and development as well as social, cultural and environmental factors that may affect human development. In addition to learning how to apply theories of development in assessing client/student issues and formulating appropriate interventions, strategies for school/mental health counselors to promote resiliency and wellness will be examined. Minimum grade of "B-" to be considered passing. Offered annually.
