FullCourseDesc
This course will help students understand the epistemology of physical science and its implications to science instruction. Students will learn how scientists know what they know, how they approach problems, and how they decide what ideas to keep and what ideas to discard. Students will follow the historical progression of the processes that scientists used to learn the fundamental laws of physics and chemistry that we teach our high school students. In addition, students will learn how to use the knowledge of epistemology and the history of science to design physical science lessons. Offered alternate years.
