Prerequisite: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of "B" or consent of graduate program coordinator This course examines the psychology of learning and teaching and the study of the nature and development of children and adolescents. The purpose of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the major historical and contemporary theories of human development, learning including cognitive development, individual learning differences, effective learning environments, and teaching for optimum learning and motivation and their educational implications for school children with exceptional learning needs.
