Prerequisite: ENGL 102 A cross-disciplinary study of film and literature, this course will develop an understanding of the various aesthetic and narrative demands of both forms of representation. Potential topics may include cinematic techniques adopted by writers, literary devices in film narrative, point of view and perspective, singular versus collaborative authorship and adaptations of literature into film. Viewing and reading works in both media will be required.
