This course provides an overview of social and emotional learning (SEL) and its relevance for educators working in PreK-12 schools. Focus is on critical practices that can be used in schools to promote resilience, wellness and positive developmental outcomes for all students. A conceptual framework for Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is described with an emphasis on how SEL intersects with academics and positive behavioral supports to meet the needs of all students within a robust model of progressive supports across the 3-tiers.
