Prerequisite: PHYS 401 or PHYS 416 or consent of instructor Students learn Einstein's general theory of relativity, and the role differential geometry and general covariance play in physics in this course. The course includes significant discussions of modern cosmology, experimental evidence for relativity, and the results of current and ongoing astrophysical measurements. Offered alternate years. May be taken for graduate-level credit.
