FullCourseDesc
This graduate course provides a comprehensive understanding of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for geospatial data collection, processing and analysis. Students will explore the principles of structure from motion (SfM), GPS, remote sensing and photogrammetry, while mastering workflows to generate products such as digital elevation models and orthomosaics. The course emphasizes practical applications of UAS data in agriculture, hydrology, ecology and geomorphology, supported by critical reviews of recent studies and emerging trends. Through hands-on activities and case studies, students will develop advanced skills for integrating UAS technologies into geoscience research and real-world problem solving. Offered spring semester.
