This course critically examines the topic of globalization in all its diverse forms of growing world-wide interdependence, interconnections and dynamics among countries as reflected in the increasing cross-border flows of goods and services, capital, know-how and people. It is imperative that we develop an understanding of and are sensitized to the diverse economic, political, social and cultural factors of globalization. This course allows students to apply critical thinking skills and conduct exploratory research on the various dimensions of globalization and their impact on different countries, and vice versa. This class is very interdisciplinary in nature and aims to enhance student grounding in research, debating and writing skills. Offered fall and spring semesters.
