Prerequisite: GEOG 121 or GEOG 220 or GEOG 221 or GEOG 222 or GEOG 223 Students will use instrumentation and visualization software
to study the formation and risks of hazardous weather events. You will study impacts on people, places and services in natural and built environments. You will explore and develop your own response, mitigation and adaptation strategies in sectors of transportation, renewable energy, recreation, agriculture and natural resources. The course includes physical lab experiments, outdoor weather observations and field trips to professional meteorological agencies and observatories. Offered spring semester.
