Prerequisite: COMP 151 This course covers the organization and structure of major hardware components of computers, mechanics of information transfer and control within a digital computer system, and the fundamentals of logic design. The course emphasizes the functions of components of a computer system, including I/O devices, memory and processors. Students will design digital circuits and complete hardware-related programming projects to demonstrate their mastery of these concepts. Offered annually.
