This course is an introduction to the Latin American and Caribbean Diasporas in the United States, as manifested in the arts, economics, history, politics and social experiences. Special attention will be given to the diverse origins, processes and stories of their migrations to and within the United States. This course will take on a multi-disciplinary approach by drawing from various academic fields in the Humanities and Social Sciences to explain the connections between Latinx peoples, Latin America, and the Caribbean regions and US-Latin American and US-Caribbean relations since the nineteenth century.
