This course is an overview of the normal language acquisition and development process of children. Emphasis will be on the years birth through age five, risk factors and strategies to facilitate development. Theories of language development, rule systems of English, stages of language development, individual and cultural differences, as well as prevention of an identification of language problems will be discussed. Offered fall and spring semesters.
