Prerequiste: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of "B" or consent of graduate program coordinator. This course covers the areas of research-based diagnosis and instructional alternatives in literacy for students with severe special needs. Participants will explore a variety of diagnostic tools as well as specific direct instruction models/programs used by teachers of students with severe/intensive special educational needs. A field-based experience allows students to incorporate new information into practical application. Offered fall and spring semester, and summer session.
