Prerequisite: ELED 220 or ECED 230 or SPED 202; and ELED 222 and acceptance into Cluster I via approved application Corequisite: ELED 305 and ELED 315 This course will examine the development of lessons and curriculum for the teaching of literacy (reading, writing, speaking and listening). Emphasis will be placed on the methodologies of delivering individualized and small group reading and writing instruction that is based on literacy assessment data in a supervised pre-practicum setting. Using Critical Literacy as the overarching theoretical framework, students will understand how to incorporate topics such as equity, diversity and social justice as part of their literacy instruction. Offered fall and spring semesters.
