Prerequisite: Matriculation in the MEd, or postmaster's program in counseling; or consent of instructor This course is an examination of schools of family systems and treatment intervention options. Attention will be given to the history and development of marital family therapy, current schools of therapy, intervention strategies and the role of the counselor in marital and family work. Professional standards for marital and family therapy will be reviewed. Minimum grade of "B-" to be considered passing. Offered fall and spring semesters.
