Prerequisite: Mathematics placement test or MATH 090 with a minimum grade of "S" or MATH 095 with a minimum grade of "S" This course is an exploration of mathematics in society, emphasizing information literacy, developing mathematical citizens, and improving algebraic and mathematical reasoning skills. Students will explore growth models and personal finance, statistics or probability, as well as the instructor’s choice to investigate voting and apportionment methods, gerrymandering or fair division methods. This course does not provide preparation for other college-level mathematics courses. Offered fall, spring, summer.
