Multilingual Lang Acquisition

This course will explore how individuals exposed to two or more languages simultaneously or sequentially during infancy and childhood acquire language. We will look at the progression of multilingual language development and discuss the sociocultural factors that contribute to (or impede) functional bilingualism. The contribution of language to pre-literacy skills and classroom implications will be discussed. Offered summer session.
