Music Fundamentals

This course teaches the basics of music literacy, focusing on how to read and notate music. Students learn to recognize and write the symbols of the musical language, while mastering concepts of pitch, rhythm, harmony, meter (simple and compound), scale and key (major and minor), intervals and triads. Evaluations are based on both written and practical work. Offered fall and spring semesters.
