Police, Community and Society

Prerequisite: CRJU 101 and CRJU 202 This course examines the current issues and themes relating to the police and their role in communities and in society. Topics covered will include the organizational structure of police departments, police problems and issues affecting society at large, new theories of the effects of policing on crime, and the effectiveness of community policing. Offered fall, spring, summer.
