Prerequisite: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of "B" or SPED 202 with a minimum grade of "B" or SPED 211 with a minimum grade of "B" or consent of graduate program coordinator Students will examine the design and implementation of effective and evidence based classroom programs and intervention techniques for students with autism spectrum disorder who differ in age and level of functioning. Major theories, teaching approaches, trends, classroom structure and environmental arrangements, research based instructional strategies, assessment, progress monitoring, collaboration, and family involvement will be discussed across all developmental domains including communication, social skills, and academic development. Offered summer session.
