Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed two of the following: HIST 111, HIST 112, HIST 131, HIST 132, HIST 221, HIST 222 This seminar uses a theme or topic chosen by the professor to introduce majors to historical methods and historiography. Students will learn how historical scholarship is conceived, constructed and interpreted. They will also locate and scrutinize primary and secondary sources, including electronic databases. History majors are required to take HIST 396 before the completion of 18 history credits. Offered fall and spring semester.
