Prerequisite: Matriculation in the MPA program or consent of MPA program coordinator As part of the 15 credit hours of elective courses (nine credits for students selecting a concentration), each MPA student must take three credit hours of PA Training Modules. These modules earn one credit each and are scheduled for either two Saturday sessions during the semester or for weekend “intensive” classes meeting for about 15 hours. Students are expected to put in appropriate out-of-class time and must successfully pass three modules covering a range of topics, including ethics in public service, managerial communication, conflict resolution, diversity in public administration, and information management, technology applications and policy. At least two of the three modules must address elements of information management, technology applications and policy. Modules will be designed to facilitate student efforts to meet this requirement. Repeatable. Graded on a (P) Pass/(N) No Pass basis.
