Prerequisite: SOCI 390 with a minimum grade of "C-" This course serves as a capstone course that explores critical issues in the discipline. The purpose of this course is to integrate sociological knowledge, theory and methods, and relate them to a concentrated study of a selected substantive area in sociology. Through the application of a sociological imagination, students are asked to evaluate the analyses of groups, institutions and social structures performed by members of the discipline. The final objectives are to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and organize their knowledge in ways that are commensurate with professional standards. This course is designed for graduating seniors. Offered fall and spring semesters.
