Prerequisite: ENGL 203 and ENGL 223; or consent of instructor This course provides examples of Shakespeare's art in dominant Renaissance dramatic forms and with some of his recurring thematic concerns. In addition, study of the histories and comedies demonstrates Shakespeare's growth in the dramatic use of language. Plays for study will include The Comedy of Errors , Two Gentlemen of Verona , Much Ado About Nothing , As You Like It , Twelfth Night , Richard III , Richard II , Henry IV, Parts I and II and Henry V .
