Prerequisite: SOCI 300 or consent of instructor This course examines the role of social actors in creating and recreating social structures, as well as how social actors create social justice movements inside these frameworks. We will examine the role of sociology and sociologists in creating social change, and how the tools of sociology have been applied in both micro and macro movements for social justice. Ultimately, we also will examine our own role as social actors working for social justice inside existing social structures. Offered alternate spring semesters.
