FullCourseDesc
This course examines time and space as a central element, in visual art, and explores its role across two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and digital and time-based media. Students investigate spatial depth, movement, and visual impact as they learn to activate physical and temporal space across different media in their work. Through rotations in 2D, 3D, and 4D studios, the course encourages experimentation with diverse materials, methods, and technologies. Fundamental elements and principles of design will be examined as students create finished artworks. Co-taught by three faculty members—each specializing in one studio dimension—this course offers an immersive foundation in visual organization, spatial awareness, and creative problem-solving; it is taught in different studio spaces. Offered spring semester.
