Survey of Chemistry I

Corequisite: CHEM 131L The first of a two-semester sequence of courses designed for students requiring a yearlong course in chemistry, but who are not planning further study in chemistry. This course covers topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, states of matter solutions, chemical reactions (with an emphasis on acid/base reactions) and nuclear chemistry. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly.
