This course introduces students to foundational theory, history, ethics and policy making tied to social, environmental and economic sustainability. The interdisciplinary course provides insight into the work of key leaders, scholars and organizations guiding sustainable change. Students will develop short written reports/reflections demonstrating the understanding of sustainability literacy throughout the semester, including local and global actions to encourage sustainable communities. Additionally, the course offers students the opportunity to develop their own leadership through the creation of a sustainability-focused service project plan. Offered fall, spring, summer.
