Teach Read Learner with Disab

Prerequisite: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of "B" This course addresses the identification and instruction of special needs students with reading disabilities. Specifically, the course focuses on the reading process and the learning to read process; instructional strategies and programs; reading assessment; the role of disabilities in learning to read; and the roles of culture, second language learning, linguistics, and environment in learning to read. A field experience is required.
