Youth Media Cultures

Prerequisite: CHST 203 This course explores the dynamic interplay between youth material and digital cultures through a critical humanities lens. It examines how young people interact with, create, and are influenced by both physical and digital media. By integrating perspectives from history, literature, cultural studies, and media theory, students will analyze the historical, social, and cultural contexts of youth toys, books, games, and digital platforms. The course will also address contemporary issues such as digital literacy, online safety, and the impact of technology on youth development. Through critical analysis and case studies, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape of youth material and digital cultures.
