Donna L. Abelli, CPA is a full-time, tenured faculty in Accounting and Finance at the Ricciardi College of Business of Bridgewater State University. Her teaching history includes undergraduate and graduate accounting and finance courses, as well as an undergraduate management capstone course. Ms. Abelli is Assessment Coordinator – Accounting; Course Coordinator of Fundamentals of Financial Reporting, a core business course; serves on the Center for Advancement of Research and Scholarship (CARS) Advisory Board; and past volunteer on the Academic Affairs Assessment Council. Ms. Abelli has been a panelist or speaker at various conferences/seminars/webinars throughout her career. Ms. Abelli earned Certified Practitioner Faculty, a professionally qualified (PQ) faculty program through prestigious AACSB and maintains an active CPA license.
She began her career at PwC (legacy Coopers & Lybrand) and became a partner in assurance services. After public accounting, she was a CFO serving private and public companies in life sciences, small businesses, and nonprofits. During this time, she received an MBA from Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University, with admission into Beta Gamma Sigma. She has a BS in Accountancy from Bentley University (Magna Cum Laude). Ms. Abelli is a member and former Chair of the Board of Directors of Independent Bank Corp/Rockland Trust, a $25 billion full-service commercial and retail bank headquartered in Massachusetts; and current member, past-Chairman of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
