Karen Norton is an Assistant Professor of Communication at BSU where she also serves as the faculty advisor to the university’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). A member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for over a decade, she brings extensive experience in strategic communication and public relations to her teaching and mentorship. Prior to joining BSU, Karen spent more than 16 years in Massachusetts public education, including 13 years as the Executive Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications at Bunker Hill Community College. In that role, she served as the college’s official spokesperson and reported directly to the President. She led institution-wide content strategies and campaigns across public relations, government relations, marketing, advertising, internal communications, web/intranet platforms, and social media. Her work included managing crisis communication efforts, crafting official statements and press releases, and conducting media interviews. Karen currently serves on the WGBH Corporate Executive Council and the PRSSA National Faculty Advisory Council.
