Dr. Decoux joined Bridgewater State University in 2019. She earned her PhD in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) from Auburn University in 2019, her MS in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) from Texas Woman’s University in 2015, and her BS in Kinesiology (Physical Education & Health) from Louisiana Tech University in 2012. Dr. Decoux’s passion and area of expertise is biomechanics. Her research interests include the interaction between humans and surfaces during locomotion, the influence of foot architectural characteristics on human movement, footwear, and movement variability. Dr. Decoux’s dissertation and most recent research focused on analyzing how the body responds to natural grass versus different synthetic turf surfaces during locomotion and sport-related tasks.
