Debbie Chen is a freelance bassoonist and music educator who has taught and performed all over New England. Chen earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Bassoon performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She then went on to earn a Master's in Bassoon Performance at Stony Brook University. Chen performs regularly with the Brockton Symphony, Firebird Pops Orchestra, The Gateway City Orchestra, and the Commonwealth Wind Symphony. In addition to teaching at Bridgewater State University, Chen teaches bassoon and oboe throughout Eastern Massachusetts and at South Shore Conservatory, working with students of all ages. Chen is very passionate when working with her students and is always eager to help anyone grow as a musician.
