Dr. Meyer is an Associate Professor of Nonprofit Management and Public Administration in the Department of Political Science. Before obtaining his PhD, Dr. Meyer worked for many years as a social worker and manager in the nonprofit sector. He teaches courses on organizational theory, nonprofit management, and public administration. His research focuses on organizational behavior and social equity, specifically around the LGBTQIA+ community. His research has been published in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Public Administration Review, Journal of Social Work, Administration & Society, and Administrative Theory and Praxis. His textbook, Lessons in Social Equity: A Case Study Book, is available through Birkdale Publishers. Dr. Meyer currently has a biweekly newsletter, The Queer Friendly Nonprofit. He also is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Public Administration.
