Graduate Checklist

Welcome to Bridgewater State University!

We are extremely excited that you’ve decided to join us and welcome you to our extraordinary graduate community. The tabs below will take you through the various steps you will need to complete in order to begin your journey as a graduate student. Please pay close attention and be sure to complete the action items in each of the steps below. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, please feel free to contact us at GradAdmissions@bridgew.edu or 508.531.1300.

Your Banner ID is the 8-digit number listed at the top of your acceptance letter. You will need this to access many of the items below, so be sure to have it handy. If you have lost your acceptance letter or cannot remember it, the Office of Graduate Admissions can help. Write to GradAdmissions@bridgew.edu from the email address used to complete your Graduate Application for help with this issue.
All new students at BSU will receive an email from "BSU Accounts" with details on how to access their user account.  Your account will give you access to campus computers, your BSU email, the campus wireless network, and the student portal among other things.   If you have any questions about accessing your account, please contact IT Support.at 508.531.2555 or ITSupport@bridgew.edu

Office 365 provides students of Bridgewater State University with free hosted communications and collaboration services.  Although Microsoft hosts the email, BSU maintains control. Your email account is automatically created for you and you may access it by logging into the Student Portal below.

If you have not already done so, have all final official transcripts that show your undergraduate degree has been confered sent to the Office of Graduate Admission. You will be able to register for courses prior to the Office of Graduate Admissions receiving all transcripts, but you will not be allowed to register for classes in your second semester until all final transcripts are received.

Course registration happens through InfoBear. The sooner you register for classes, the more options you will have in selecting courses that meet your scheduling and academic wishes.

Please note that it may take up to 24 hours after your enrollment form is processed before you can register for courses online

For guidance on course selection, please contact your advisor. Your advisor’s contact information will be sent to you via mail. You are able to view tutorials on registering under Registration Tools. You can view the registration schedule on the Registrar's website.

You must complete the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement in InfoBear before you can register for any courses

Graduate assistantships and fellowships are available to matriculated students in Master’s Degree and CAGS programs.  These programs offer remission for full tuition and academic fees for up to a total of 24 credit hours during the fall, spring, and summer sessions.

All graduate students registered for 9 or more credit hours in a given semester must have a Student Health and Counseling form on file with the Office of Health Services BEFORE attending classes.
