Ann Biddle

Ann Biddle is a dance educator, curriculum designer, and scholar with over 30 years of experience in the field. She is the Professional Learning and Curriculum Senior Consultant and Founding Faculty of the 92NY Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) and formerly Director of DEL at Jacob’s Pillow (2018 – 2024). She oversees the DEL Institute Teacher Certificate Program and DEL Facilitators in Training Program and has designed numerous courses and curricula in dance education, embodied dance history, curriculum design, social change, multicultural education, and interdisciplinary learning. Biddle has taught at UMass Amherst, Mount Holyoke College, Ball State University, Kenyon College, and Skidmore College and has taught internationally in Costa Rica (Fulbright Scholar), China, Ghana, and Guatemala. Her extensive curriculum and consulting work include collaborations with dance artists and organizations such as Flamenco Vivo, José Limón Dance Company, Urban Bush Women, Doug Varone, Ballet Hispánico, New York City Ballet, Dorrance Dance, and Robin Becker Dance. She also worked with ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax as a Choreometrics analyst. 

Biddle is a doctoral candidate in Dance Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where her research explores transformative adult learning and embodied reflective practice. Featured in the PBS documentary PS DANCE! The Next Generation, she received NDEO’s 2023 Outstanding Leadership in Dance Education Award in PK–12.
