Anthony Tabbi and three students having a discussion in the LGCIE office

The Lewis and Gaines Center for Inclusion and Equity is dedicated to holistically supporting the needs of our student body. We host an array of programs that connect students to and create awareness of the plethora of support services provided by the University.

100 Males To College

100 Males to College was created to increase college access, enrollment, retention, and success for low-income students and students of color, particularly young men, to positively impact their prospects for success in college and career. The Brockton program includes in-depth mentoring provided by Bridgewater State University students and an interactive curriculum focused on increasing student success and college readiness. The program focuses on strengthening young people through a positive youth development model that embraces culture, identity and community by engaging some of our Commonwealth’s most promising yet underserved young people in a personally and educationally transformational journey.

Faculty Office Hours

Faculty hold office hours in the Lewis and Gaines Center for Inclusion and Equity.

Let's Talk

Hosted by the BSU Wellness and Counseling Services, a counselor offers a unique opportunity for undergraduates to seek assistance in the LGCIE on a drop-in basis. It is held weekly and in private in an adjoining conference room.

Scholarship Day

This is an all-day affair held early February in the LGCIE, where we invite students to apply for scholarships available through BSU's Office of Advancement. We provide staff assistance, chrome books and snacks throughout the day to encourage and support students as they apply for scholarships awarded in a majority of disciplines by a multitude of donors and agencies.

SnakChat

SnakChat is designed to create awareness of available student success resources. Department leads provide an overview of their particular department and initiatives that may be offered. It is a great opportunity for students to form relationships with administrators while obtaining key information such as program requirements and deadlines.
