Louis M. Ricciardi College of Business

Ricciardi College of Business

The College of Business has been renamed the Louis M. Ricciardi College of Business, and represents the very first naming of an academic unit at Bridgewater State University. Mr. Ricciardi’s decades of service to Bridgewater began as an undergraduate student in addition to his generous donations to the Foundation and various scholarship funds.

To mark the occasion of the name change, Mr. Ricciardi, a member of the Class of 1981, announced his latest gift: endowment of a fund to inspire entrepreneurial leadership among promising Bridgewater students pursuing internships. He is also founder of both the Michael J. Ricciardi Memorial Scholarship and the Dr. Thomas M. Curley Humanities Scholarship.

The Ricciardi College of Business was initially established as the School of Management and Aviation Science in the 1997-1998 academic year. Then, as now, the college is comprised of three departments: Department of Accounting and Finance, Department of Aviation Science and Department of Management.

A Message From the Dean

Are you interested in becoming an accountant with a Big 4 firm?  Are you interested in becoming an equity trader? Are you interested in consumer marketing? Do you want to be a pilot for an international airline? If so, the Louis M. Ricciardi College of Business at Bridgewater State University is the place for you. At the Ricciardi College, you can study all areas of business and aviation with an exciting and talented group of faculty. You will get to know both the faculty and your fellow students because interactions take place in small classrooms that average less than 25 students per class.

Several elements of the Ricciardi College experience are distinctive:

   1. Our faculty members combine academic and professional experience, thereby yielding an impressive perspective on learning.

   2. Our programs emphasize hands-on learning experiences that make internships, projects with local, regional and national firms, and experience-based learning an integral part of the learning environment. What can be more experience based than earning your pilot's license? Reality based learning, however, is part of all of our programs.

   3. Our students are pragmatic, results-oriented individuals from whom you will learn as much as you do from your professors.

Our motto is "Experience. The Difference." It doesn't matter if you are just starting an undergraduate program, transferring from another college, or looking to develop the advanced skills of a master's degree - the Ricciardi College will offer you a challenging and rewarding experience and the skills to advance your career.
