Teaching in a Virtual/Online K-12 Environment 

Expand your knowledge of classroom technology and skills for teaching in a virtual or online environment with Bridgewater State University’s Teaching in a Virtual/Online K-12 Environment undergraduate certificate. BSU’s well-respected College of Education and Health Sciences has designed this undergraduate certificate for both educators and future educators.

The certificate is designed for students who are planning to teach in the K-12 environment. The certificate provides students with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of tools used in a classroom or online educational setting. Please note: this program is designed for undergraduate-level students. If you have a bachelor's degree, our College of Graduate Studies offers a similar program. 

Online Certificate Program

The certificate is composed of four, three-credit undergraduate courses that are delivered completely online. Students may take the courses in any order. There are no course prerequisites. 

Please note: Students must have a camera on their computer/laptop/mobile device in order to participate in virtual discussions as part of the program.

VRED 210 The Learner in a Virtual/Online Environment
VRED 220 Consultation and Collaboration in Virtual/Online School Settings
VRED 230 Leadership in the Virtual/Online Education Environment

Program Eligibility

BSU Students: The BSU undergraduate students in any academic discipline and at any stage in their degree program who wish to learn more about teaching and learning online. 

Educators and future educators: The certificate program is open to all.

Program admission requirements

Individuals who are currently enrolled in a Bridgewater State University degree program or in a degree program in any two- or four-year college or university.

Students must have completed high school in order to participate in the program.

Students may apply for admission at any time during the year.
