Observatory Public Viewing Nights

Schedule of Spring 2023 Public Observatory Nights:

The BSU Observatory will be open to the public, weather allowing, at the following times.  Please check here or on our Facebook or Twitter pages on the day of the even to see if the weather will allow it to go on!

  • March 15, 22, and 29 from 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
  • April 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 8:15 pm - 9:45 pm

The BSU Observatory is dedicated to educating and sparking an interest in science, particularly astronomy, in the regional community.

There is never a fee for attending an observatory event, and people of all ages are welcome. The observatory staff will show you constellations, planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters, and will be happy to answer any questions you have about astronomy. If you need any accommodations, please contact us. We will be happy to make arrangements for you.

The observatory's events take place on the 5th floor of the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center.  You can take the right-hand elevator in the lobby all the way to the 5th floor, or you can take the central stairs to the 4th floor, then turn right twice, then take the first door on your right (it's red) up to the next floor.  You may also park in the West Campus Lot.
