This year's Region V High School Science & Engineering Fair will be virtual. The fair will be held over a period of three days: March 3, 4 and 5, 2021.
Judging will be done by Zoom or Skype, and the students will have a virtual interview, lasting up to 15 minutes, with each judge.
There is a new system called zFairs for registering student projects.
Students who want to submit a proposal for Scientific Review Committee approval should open an account on the first page of the zFairs website. Students will create a profile with his/her/their email and password. Unlike the system used previously (SEFOS), the student can go back to the site repeatedly to continue to fill out ISEF forms and submit them.
Teachers should create their own profiles on the Region V zFairs website as well, so they can oversee and review their students' proposals and submissions and check on the Scientific Review Committee status of their students' work.
zFairs will generate ISEF forms for each student to complete. Forms are based on the student's project proposal. There are no longer MSEF forms, but the ISEF forms are very similar.
Students must make sure that all forms necessary for their project to get Scientific Review Committee approval are filled out correctly and have the correct signatures.
Deadline
THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT A PROJECT PROPOSAL ON THE ZFAIRS WEBSITE WILL BE JANUARY 18, 2021.
