Master’s Degree in Mathematics (MAT and MS)

Gain Advanced Skills and Licensure: Earn a Master’s in Mathematics

Find the Math Master's program that fits your needs. We offer an evening MAT degree aimed at secondary education teachers seeking professional licensure or additional coursework with an emphasis on pedagogy, as well as a daytime MS degree designed to impart advanced mathematical training in preparation for PhD programs or quantitative careers in government, industry, and education.

Bridgewater State University’s master’s degree in mathematics degree is designed for aspiring teachers and educational professionals who want to gain greater knowledge and skills, make a more meaningful impact in the field and earn professional licensure. In conjunction with BSU’s Department of Secondary Education and Department of Mathematics, our MAT degree in mathematics will expose you to various models of instruction and their impact on students, giving you the expertise to become a teacher-leader in Massachusetts and beyond.

BSU also offers an MS in Mathematics that will provide you with a sound understanding of important mathematical concepts and the tools needed to understand and apply mathematics in the world. Depending on your aspirations, the degree can be tailored to prepare you for PhD programs in mathematics and related fields or a career in high-demand technical sectors such as insurance, engineering, finance, and medicine. It can also serve educators looking to advance their licensure while opening up additional options like teaching at two-year colleges.
