BSU Drone (sUAS) Certificate Program
BSU will not only prepare students for the FAA Part 107 exam but students will learn numerous aspects of flying Small Unmanned Aviation Systems (sUAS). The curriculum will feature information about the various software used in piloting UAVs, drone maintenance, how to build UAV parts using a 3D scanner and aspects of engaging drone scanners and imaging. Students will also learn how to utilize GIS (Geographical Information Services) mapping 2D and 3D mapping.
BSU's program will also prepare students for the business side of sUAS. Students will prepare business plans to create their own drone company.
Credits earned in the certificate program are eligible to transfer into a BSU undergraduate degree program.
Course DesignThe Drone (sUAS) Certificate is composed of four courses. Two, seven-week courses will be delivered in the fall and in the spring semesters. Students who successfully pass all courses will earn a total of six undergraduate credits.

CostClasses in the program are priced at the Bridgewater State University undergraduate per credit rate. The rate for the 2021-22 academic year is $1,329.75 for a three-credit undergraduate course. There is an additional $25 fee per credit for online courses (courses with the "W" designation). The rate is the same for in-state and out-of-state students.
