Continuing Studies New Online Programs

New Online Programs: Childhood Studies, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Special Education

BSU's College of Continuing Studies has added four new undergraduate online degree completion programs within the past year: Childhood Studies, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education and Special Education. We are now accepting applications for all programs. BSU offers 7 online degree completion programs and 14 degree completion programs in Bridgewater at night, including 5 programs that can be completed either at night or online. Each semester students can choose from approximately 600 night and online courses.

Same degree, same program curriculum: Our night and online degree programs follow the same program requirements and curriculum as our day programs. Many of our faculty members teach during the day, at night and online. Continuing Studies students receive the same high-quality education as their counterparts in day programs.

Childhood Studies, BA
This interdisciplinary approach will provide students with a well-rounded education in preparation for careers in public policy, social services, youth programming, academics, health care settings, the arts, and education. More+

Criminal Justice, BS
Through Bridgewater State University’s undergraduate and bachelor’s in criminal justice programs, gain a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice process and a broad overview of criminology. Our undergraduate and bachelor’s in criminal justice programs put a unique emphasis on social justice and other topics that impact policing, corrections and the court system. When you graduate with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, you will have the expertise to lead, protect and serve in this ever-growing and rapidly changing profession.

Elementary Education, BSE
The BSU Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Bridgewater State University prepares students to become exceptional educators of children from infancy to age 8, providing them with the skills and understanding needed to make a positive and enduring contribution in the lives of young children. Students who successfully complete their Elementary Education major and a second major are then eligible to apply for an Initial License with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for Elementary Education (Grades 1-6).

Special Education, BSE
The BSU Department of Special Education trains students for careers as teachers of individuals with moderate to severe special needs, preparing them to have a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of often overlooked populations. Students who successfully complete this major are eligible to apply for licensure to teach in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. More+
